Top Ways To Use Apple Cider Vinegar For Beauty

You’ve probably heard of apple cider vinegar, it’s been promoted a lot for weight loss, and helping your digestion.  Did you know it can also help with your skin?  You should always be careful when using home remedies, but raw apple cider vinegar is alkaline forming to your body (other vinegars are acid forming), you should still test it on a small area of your skin first.

Softer Smoother Skin

Since apple cider vinegar has a pH level close your skin’s own pH, it’s a good way to keep it in balance.  Frequent washing and scrubbing strips away our bodies pH level, and moisture.  A simple trick to restore your skin is to mix eight ounces, about a glass, into your bath.  Do this a couple times a week, and after a few weeks you’ll have soft, smooth skin.   Apple cider vinegar also contains natural acids called alpha-hydroxyl and acetic acids.  You can use a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, mixed with two cups of water, to minimize pores, and even tighten your skin.  Wash and dry your face, then use a cotton ball on your face and neck before bed.  Just let it air dry, a light mix like this will evaporate after a few minutes.  Apple cider vinegar also has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which can used to help fight acne.  If you’re having an actual breakout, use a heavier mix than above, eight ounces to sixteen ounces of water.  You’ll want to rinse this heavier mix off, after about ten minutes.

Shiny Silky Hair

I use apple cider vinegar when rinsing out hair dye, the vinegar helps seal in the color.  A mild solution twice a week, two to eight ounces of apple cider vinegar to equal amounts of water, massaged into the scalp will help your hair look shiny and sleek.  If you have dandruff issues, this mixture will also help.  You’ll want to use eight ounces of apple cider vinegar, with eight ounces of water, about ten minutes before your bath or shower.  Doing this daily should stop the dandruff, then you can lower the frequency to twice a week.

Keeping Your Feet Healthy

The same anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties that help with dandruff, can also help with your feet.  Not only will it help prevent foot fungus, it can kill the germs and bacteria that cause nasty foot odor.  Prepare a foot soak, one cup of apple cider vinegar, and four cups of warm water.  Let your feet soak for fifteen minutes.  Doing this daily for two weeks will do wonders for your feet, and who doesn’t love an excuse for a foot soak?
There you have it, a few tricks to get the most out of your apple cider vinegar.  Well, I suppose you could also cook with it, if that’s your thing.
